About the Project

AFK City is a free, browser-native city-building simulation — and a flagship design-and-style project for AI Brand Solutions. An 80×80 procedural grid grows 6,400 tiles into a living city of up to 25,000 residents, while a two-minute day-night cycle, weather, traffic and roaming set-pieces keep the screen alive even when you step away. It is ambient by design, with a Vibe-Cam that frames the city like a film.

There are three ways to play. Auto/Watch mode lets the city build itself. Classic hands you drag-zone districts and the levers of growth. Survive deals council cards against four mounting pressures — the mode where the city pushes back.

Under the hood it ships as a single HTML file on self-hosted Three.js — no framework, no bundler. Instanced rendering, four performance tiers and 4× MSAA with ACES tone-mapping keep it smooth from older laptops to gaming rigs.

The amber-on-near-black identity, the UI and the entire web presence were designed by Kushal Chudiwala. AFK City is live on the web, installable as a PWA, and in Android closed testing — deployed on Vercel with llms.txt, JSON-LD and analytics wired in from day one.
